Man chops friend’s private part in drunken brawl
Moorthy (28) and Saravanan (29), both from Tiruvannamalai, are working as daily wage workers who also took up petty jobs. On Sunday night, the duo was drinking at a Tasmac liquor shop near the D K Subhamangala Maaligai in Rajamangalam.

A fight between two friends over sharing liquor turned violent after one of them bobbitised the other, at Rajamangalam on Sunday. The victim is undergoing treatment at Stanley Medical College Hospital.
Around 10.30 pm, when the locality was almost deserted, the duo entered into a fight and Saravanan allegedly hit Moorthy with a stone.
Infuriated over this, Saravanan pulled out a blade and cut off Moorthy’s male organ, said police.
Hearing Moorthy’s screams, passers-by took him to the Stanley Medical College Hospital, while Saravanan was arrested. Preliminary inquiries revealed that the duo already had some differences.
It aggravated as Moorthy allegedly shared less liquor with Saravanan, which triggered the fight on Sunday.
In yet another incident, a 31-year-old man was stabbed with a broken liquor bottle over a drunken brawl outside a Tasmac shop on Sunday night. Triplicane police have remanded Mohammed Hussain and Abdul Rahim in connection with a case, while the victim Ilayabharathi is undergoing treatment at Government Royapettah Hospital.
