Delivering his address at a public meeting of MGR Youth Wing, in Madurai, on Saturday, Sellur Raju took his turn to criticise the two actors, who had recently ventured into active politics. He called the actors opportunists and criticised them for seeking a livelihood in politics after the end of their career in films.
Speaking about Kamal, he said that people never understand what Kamal speaks and sometimes Kamal himself does not understands what he speaks. “For instance, when he did not attend the funeral of former President APJ Abdul Kalam he said that he does not have the habit of attending funerals, but he attended a funeral meeting with actress Gowthami, in another meeting he attended with actress Sri Priya and in another occasion with Vani,” said Sellur Raju.
He also questioned, “When Kamal could not protect the women who were with him, how could he protect the state.” Sellur Raju also criticised Rajinikanth for not being stable in his ideas and not knowing the history of the state.
He said that in the year 1986 Rajinikanth said that politics is a garbage dump yard and entering it is similar to jumping into the fire.
“Rajinikanth once said that no one will accept him as a politician but now he is aspiring big,” wondered Raju.
He also said that Rajinikanth has no idea of Tamil Nadu politics and history. “When MGR was in DMK he had opposed the liquor shops in Tamil Nadu, but former chief minister Karunanidhi went on to open them. When MGR demanded the party accounts he was expelled from the DMK and since then MGR and Karunanidhi remained as opposite poles. Without knowing the history Rajinikanth had spoken that the photos of MGR and Karunanidhi should be placed together,’’ said Raju.
He further said that former chief minister J Jayalalithaa had helped Rajinikanth’s family in several ways and Rajinikanth had spoken high of her when she was alive. But after her death he is appreciating others. “How a man who is not stable in his views can bring stable politics to the state,” questioned Sellur Raju.
