2 office-bearers of Rajini Makkal Mandram fired for using fake identities
Two members of the Chidambaram city executive committee of the Rajini Makkal Mandram working for superstar Rajinikanth have been dismissed from the organisation for using fake IDs to inflate membership figures.

NK Sekhar and KM Shahul Hameed of the Chidambaram city executive committee have been relieved of all responsibilities and have had their membership revoked. This comes after complaints from the Cuddalore unit that notified the disciplinary action committee that the duo was guilty of registering members by fabricating details of name, address and ID proof of members. Close to 330 entries have been found to be falsified by the two members. This is the fourth case of disciplinary action after the action against office-bearers in Villupuram, Theni and Bodi.
This comes in the wake of signs of a rift in the Rajini Makkal Mandram with Rajinikanth’s brother Sathyanarayana Rao Gaekwad claiming recently that the top brass of the organisation could soon be replaced. Rajinikanth’s intention to enter politics led to the formation of the Rajini Makkal Mandram earlier in 2018, uniting all his fan clubs across the state. But since then, the Mandram has seen more than its fair share of internal turmoil, with dismissals of key members happening quite often. The RMM also issued a statement earlier in the week, informing that the organisation does not have an official spokesperson yet and rumours about the internal workings are unfounded.Â
Kamal releases district in-charges listÂ
Meanwhile, actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan’s Makkal Needhi Maiam released a list of appointments to the position of MNM district in-charges for the remaining constituencies, as well as certain amendments to the original list. Earlier, the party’s high-level committee comprising 16 members was dissolved as well and an executive council was formed with the same set of members.
As the 63-year-old’s party continues shaping up, Kamal also recently dismissed rumours of an alliance with the Congress for the time being, and said that his interactions with Rahul Gandhi did not feature the subject of formation of an alliance between Congress and Makkal Needhi Maiam. He had also called for the local body elections to be held in Tamil Nadu and promised that MNM would endeavour to make the elections take place.
