Kamal asks youth to join army at special screening in Officer’s Training Academy
“More of you must come forward to join the army,” said actor-turned-politician Kamal Haasan at an interaction with the press at the Officer’s Training Academy here on Sunday evening.

Speaking before a special screening of his latest movie Vishwaroopam 2 for the personnel at the OTA, Kamal urged the youth of Tamil Nadu to work on their capabilities to join the army. He said that there should be more people from the southern states who must aspire to join the army. He said that youth must not harbour an inhibition such as that taking up a job in the army is a risk to one’s life. He added that the task of protecting the nation is a crucial one and reiterated on his wish that more youngsters should endeavour to serve the nation in the right manner.
Kamal also thanked the officers of the academy for helping him through the preparation for the filming of Vishwaroopam 2 and said that parts of the movie had been shot on the OTA premises.
Kamal forayed into politics with the formation of his party Makkal Needhi Maiam on February 24 this year. With his party gearing up for electoral politics, he has been keen to forge relationships with a wide cross section of people. He has also endeavoured to cultivate working relationships with chiefs of other states such as Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal and New Delhi.
