Dairy Minister DA case: Madras High Court gives time for DVAC to file report

A bench of justices M Sathyanarayanan and R Hemalatha had earlier observed that the preliminary inquiry already carried out by the Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) was not properly conducted.
It had directed the agency to launch the probe afresh by taking the check period from 1996 to February 2018.
When the hearing resumed on Friday, Advocate General (A-G) Vijay Narayan filed the DVAC’s status report on the investigation in a sealed cover.
The bench, after going through it, directed the Registrar (Judicial) to keep it under his custody and produce it to the court as and when required.
The AG said some more witnesses have to be enquired and sought time to file further status report following which the court granted time up till October 8 and posted the matter to that date.
