Vandalur zoo loans 7 animals
Arignar Anna Zoological Park in Vandalur received seven new varieties of fauna – ranging from Striped Hyena to Sarus Crane and Black Swan – under its animal exchange program with the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Garden in Mysuru.

Visitors to the Vandalur zoo can now see the striped hyena (two males and two females), Indian gaur (male), male and female species of lady Amherst pheasant, jackal, golden pheasant, Sarus crane, black swan and Eclectus parrot at the enclosures, on loan from the Chamarajendra Zoological Garden, Mysuru.
In return, the Arignar Anna Zoological Park has loaned out a pair of white tigers, a male Indian Gaur, a male Lion Tailed macaque and a pair of Nilgiri languar.
The animals received from Mysuru are are under medical care and are kept under isolation, according to a press statement, issued by the Arignar Anna Zoological Park. The veterinarians are continuously monitoring the animals and after three weeks of close observation the public will be able to visit these animals, added the release.
