Three-year-old run over by lorry, driver arrested

The deceased, identified as Priyadarshini lived with her parents Ramaraj and Sarguna both workers of a stone quarry at Reddypalayam near Chengalpattu.  The couple also have a six-year-old son studying in Class 1 in a local school. On Friday morning Priyadarshini was playing in the stone quarry when a lorry ran her over while backing up on its way out after being loaded with stones.

Priyadarshini was rushed to the private hospital nearby where the doctors declared her dead upon arrival. On information, Paalur police visited the spot and sent the body for post-mortem at Chengalpattu government hospital and arrested the lorry driver.
