Sree Reddy files complaint against Tamil film director
Actor Sree Reddy, who has been in the limelight after commenting openly about the casting couch issue in Telugu and Tamil cinema industries, reached City Police Commissioner’s office on Friday to lodge a complaint against director Varaki for calling her a commercial sex worker.
Chennai
While interacting with the mediapersons at the commissionerate on Friday, Sree Reddy lashed out at Varaki, who had termed her as a commercial sex worker.
“I may have slept with many. But I never collected money for that. By talking about it, I was trying to expose the sexual exploitation that is existing in the cinema industry,” she said and clarified that she was not a sex worker. She also named a well-known Tamil movie director and two actors with whom she had physical relationships in the past.
However, she added that it was not paid sex. Expressing her strong objection to the reference made by Varaki, she asked the police to take appropriate action against him under Tamil Nadu Prohibition of Harassment of Women Act.
