Dhinakaran also predicted that Assembly elections for Tamil Nadu would be held along with the Lok Sabha elections and vowed to defeat ten ministers, including Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami. Speaking to reporters here, Dhinakaran said he had already nominated election managers for Lok Sabha and Assembly constituencies.

The AMMK leader said he is holding alliance talks with many parties and those with similar views and accepting the leadership of his party could join hands with him. He also reiterated that his party would not have alliance with the BJP, which he described as a communal party. He said no one would get absolute majority to form the government at the Centre and people of Tamil Nadu would decide the next Union government.

Dhinakaran said his party would contest in all the 40 Parliament seats in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry and win 37 seats again. He said the party’s recruitment of members is going on and hoped to enrol more than two crore members when the process is completed in August 15. The AMMK would focus on all the 234 constituencies and special attention would be given to ‘betrayers,’ including Palaniswami.

All the betrayers would be democratically defeated, Dhinakaran said. He also denied that some of the MPs are supporting him and they are meeting him only in a friendly manner. The AMMK leader said, “I do not know if any of the AIADMK MPs voted in support of the no-confidence motion against the BJP government at the Centre.” The state government claiming to be Amma’s government had deviated from her path and giving assent to anti-people schemes. “Those who are interested in the welfare of their families must go out of power,” he asserted.
