Women lose gold to three conmen

At KK Nagar, a middle aged man cheated a woman named Kanchana (56), who was walking home. Then, a man sought her blessing, claiming that he had started jewellery business. 

After walking with her a few meters, he convinced her to place her jewellery in a plate he was carrying. He then promised to return after buying pooja articles, but vanished. 

In another incident, also at KK Nagar, a man spiked cool drinks with sleeping pills and offered it to Jagathambal (66), and escaped with her four-sovereign gold chain. The third was even more elaborate. 

At Teynampet, a man prostrated before Janaki (66), a sweeper at a private firm in Seethambal Nagar on Tuesday morning. 

When he told her that she appeared like his mother, Janaki was impressed. The man then asked her to remove her gold jewellery assuring to replace it with new ornaments immediately and walked away with gold. It was only when he failed to return that she realised she was cheated.
