Three lose phones to snatchers in Vadapalani
Mobile phone snatching incidents continued unabated in the city, as three people have lost their mobile phones to bike-borne snatchers on 100-feet Road and Sivan Koil Street in Vadapalani on Monday night. As a trio riding triple was involved in all the cases, police are investigating if it is the same gang.

According to sources, Karthik, an employee of a private company and a resident of Saligramam Estate Colony, was talking on the phone near a hotel on 100 Feet Road at Vadapalani.Â
That is when three men on a bike snatched his phone and escaped. Within minutes, a bike borne trio snatched a mobile phone of Sellaiyan of Vadapalani Arcot Road, who was talking on the phone outside a private hospital.Â
Similarly, Sai Parasanna of Ottagapalayam lost his mobile to three snatchers on a bike while standing at a bus stand on Sivan Koil Street. All the victims have filed complaints with Vadapalani police.Â
Police are going through the CCTV footage in the locality to identify the accused, said sources. The gang managed to strike despite the police forming special crime prevention teams to monitor Chennai streets during night hours after series of mobile snatching incidents rocked the city.Â
