    Policeman’s walkie-talkie goes missing

    A head constable attached to the Choolaimedu police station had lodged a complaint at his station saying that his walkie-talkie went missing during vehicle check on Monday night.

    Veeravel, attached to the law and order wing of the Choolaimedu police station, noted that he was on night duty and was engaged in a vehicle check with another constable. Later he noticed his walkie-talkie is missing. 

    CM’s convoy halted: 

    A policeman, who went to the middle of Kamarajar Salai on Monday evening to pick his walkie-talkie which fell off, caused sudden halt of Chief Minister Edappadi Palaniswami’s convoy on Monday. The incident happened near Labour Statue around 4 pm. “He thought he could get it and run back to his position. But his action had caused sudden halt of the convoy. Some vehicles of the convoy rammed the vehicles in front. But no one was injured in the incident,” police said.

    Cops hunt for milk thief in Kodungaiyur

    Police are on the lookout for a thief, who stole milk sachets from the trays left behind by the milk vendors at the shops, early in the mornings. 

    Police said that in Kodungaiyur alone, the man managed to take away 66 litres of milk in two days. Police personnel have collected the CCTV camera footage from the locality and found that the accused came on a moped and sped away after stealing milk sachets. Sanjay, who runs a milk parlour on Sidco Nagar Main Road in Kodungaiyur, found the milk sachets were stolen from the trays kept in front of his shop. He browsed through CCTV footage and spotted a man stealing milk from the trays. Following this, Sanjay had lodged a complaint on June 24 regarding the incident. He was shocked on Monday after he noticed 36 litres of milk sachets went missing again. In the CCTV footage, he found the same man was stealing 30 litres of milk. The Kodungaiyur police registered a case based on Sanjay’s complaint and searching for the suspect with the help of the CCTV camera footage.
