Actor and director Parthiepan has filed a complaint that around and one and a half kg gold has gone missing from his house since April. Snatcher nabbed using GPS app
The Kotturpuram police on Monday arrested two mobile phone snatchers, who also stole gadgets from the men’s hostel of Madras University, using a GPS tracking app on Sunday. On Sunday night, the suspects snatched a mobile phone from Gandhi Mandapam. The victim had installed a GPS tracking app on his phone which showed the police the exact location of phone. The arrested were identified as M Rajesh (22) and K Batsha (24), of Guindy. The police recovered eleven mobile phones, a tablet phone and a laptop from the two.
History-sheeter held for stealing car
CHENNAI: A history-sheeter was arrested for stealing a car in Poonamallee, and the stolen vehicle was recovered from him on Sunday. The accused was identified as Raja (25) of Nagercoil. According to police, Karthick (25), a resident of Nambi Street, had lodged a complaint saying that his car that was parked outside his house went missing on June 25. When police officers were conducting a vehicle check near Poonamallee bus stand, they intercepted Raja on suspicion. During interrogation, he confessed to stealing Karthik’s car. He has several car theft cases pending against him. He was remanded in judicial custody.
