The Directorate of Government Examinations of Tamil Nadu (DGET) on Wednesday said that marks have been changed after retotalling for more than 400 students of Class 10, who took the board exams this year.
Chennai
More than 9.4 lakh students in Tamil Nadu had appeared for Class 10 board exams this year, the results of which were announced in May. Soon, the DGET informed the candidates that they could apply for retotalling through their respective schools and private candidates through their respective examination centre.Â
Sources said that about one lakh students from the state had applied for retotalling and revaluation, including 20,000 from Chennai alone.Â
The directorate sources said that 433 candidates received their revised marks after retotalling. Accordingly, the authorities have listed out the registration numbers of the candidates on the website, who had applied for retotalling.Â
Students, whose marks were revised, were instructed to download their new provisional marksheets. The original mark sheet could be obtained from their respective schools by next week.Â
A teacher, who participated in the process, said certain teachers had failed to add the awarded marks to the total. He said, there are chances of marks being reduced in case a teacher notices a mistake which was earlier overlooked. While retotalling will be conducted by a single teacher, three will be in charge of the revaluation process.
