Senior Air Force officer visits Tambaram base
Air Marshal SRK Nair, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Training Command, was on a two-day visit to the Air Force Station in Tambaram.

During his visit ending on Tuesday, Nair addressed the personnel posted at the station, emphasising on professional excellence. He urged them to make sustained efforts towards continuous enhancement of their technical knowledge and skills by keeping themselves abreast with the latest changes. Prior to his departure, the Air Marshal reviewed a Guard of Honour.Â
Air Marshal SRK Nair graduated from the National Defence Academy (NDA) and was commissioned in transport stream of Indian Air Force in 1980. He is a qualified flying instructor and has also been an Air Force examiner. Â
Prior to his present appointment, he had held several important command and staff appointments, including that of Director, Operations (Transport) at Air Headquarters and Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel Airmen and Civilians), Commanding Officer of a prestigious transport Squadron, Director Operations (Transport) at Air Head-quarters, Air Officer Commanding of a premiere base, Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Personnel Airmen & Civil-ians), Assistant Chief of the Air Staff (Transport & Helicopter) at Air Headquarters and Senior Air Staff Officer of Training Command. The Air Marshal has taken active part and flown extensively in Operation Pawan, Operation Cactus, Operation Parakrama and Operation Safed Sagar. He was awarded Mention-in-Despatch in 1999, Vayu Se-na Medal in 2005, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal in 2010 and Param Vishisht Seva Medal in 2017.
