55-year-old, youth held under POCSO Act

In the first case, A Shah Jahan (55) of Saidapet was arrested for allegedly molesting a seven-year-old girl, who was his neighbour. The minor came home crying and told her mother that Shah Jahan undressed her in the guise of playing with her. Shocked, the girl’s mother lodged a complaint with the Saidapet police. Shah Jahan was picked up for interrogation, and as the charges were found true, he was booked under POCSO Act and remanded in judicial custody.

Similarly, Anna Nagar All Woman Police have arrested a 19-year-old boy for threatening a minor girl of uploading the photos showing them together. Police said S Rahulkumar of Choolaimedu was in love with a Class 10 girl from Arumbakkam for over a year. After she started avoiding him recently, he threatened her of circulating the photos they clicked together on Facebook and received jewels from her on different occasions. After almost 15 sovereigns went missing, the girl’s mother confronted her and the girl told her about Rahulkumar. Based on their complaint, Rahulkumar was arrested under POCSO Act as well as on cheating charges.
