Van knocks down four-year-old girl
A four-year-old girl was fatally knocked by a van in Ponneri when she was waiting for the school bus on Wednesday morning.

P Pragathi, a UKG student of a private school and resident of Aladu village near Ponneri, was accompanied by her mother Kalpana and sisters, Priyadarshini an Aishwarya, when the accident happened. The others escaped with minor injuries. According to police, a van owned by a private company in Sholavaram lost control and rammed on Kalpana and the three children. Pragathi came under the wheels and died on the spot, said police. On information, Ponneri police arrested the driver and investigating.
