Yoga programmes for prisoners by Isha
Isha Foundation would organise Yoga programmes to thousands of inmates in 16 prisons in Tamil Nadu to mark the fourth International Day of Yoga on June 21 to relieve them from stress and prevent their suicides.

A Foundation release on Tuesday here said a team of experts from the Isha Foundation would organise the programmes in prisons all over the state. The trainers would transmit yoga in such a way that one grow to his limitless potential with stability in both body and mind.Â
The main aim of conducting these free Yoga programmes in jails was to make the prisoners relieve from stress and to reduce the suicide rate in prisons.Â
The Isha Foundation would also conduct free Yoga programmes to RAF personnel, BSF jawans, Indian Army, Indian Air Force, Border Security Force, Central Industrial Security Force, Indo-Tibetan Border Police, Power Grid Corporation of India, Indian Farmers Fertiliser Cooperative (IFFCO), among others.Â
Isha Foundation was also in the process of training over 10 lakh yoga Veeras, who would offer a simple yet very powerful Yoga Namaskar to people globally. Over the past three years, Isha has taken monumental steps to bring to life Sadhguru’s vision of this day as a major offering of yoga and a possibility for people of all age groups, religions, nationalities and social backgrounds to experience meditativeness, expanding their perception of life from individuality to universality.
