Mansoor Ali Khan arrested by Salem police for inflammatory speech

A team of police personnel reached Mansoor Ali Khan’s residence in Nungambakkam in the wee hours of Sunday. However, his family members opposed to his arrest and police held talks with Mansoor Ali Khan to cooperate with them. A few minutes later, the actor himself surrendered to police and was taken to Salem.

The actor recently visited the water bodies as part of his trip to Salem and later while addressing the media, he said that Salem will face water scarcity among other environmental issues if the proposed green field highway project is implemented.

So, the state and Union governments should abandon the project and he would participate in protests if organised against the project.

“If the government wants to go ahead with eight-way highway, I wouldn’t relent even to kill eight people,” he said. Since his speech was in the manner of inciting violence, Salem police had booked a case against him.
