Two college students killed as lorry rams two-wheeler

The deceased were identified as Sathish (20), a resident of Perungalathur and Parthiban (20) of Palavakkam on ECR. Both were studying B.Com final at a private college in Gowrivakkam. The lorry driver Gundar Singh (25) from Jharkhand was arrested by the police.

Police said that Sathish and Parthiban were proceeding towards Tambaram from Perungalathur when the incident took place. When they were on GST Road, a speeding tipper lorry knocked them down. In the impact, both fell down and died on the spot with grievous head injuries. The driver Gundar Singh, who tried to flee the spot after the incident, was caught by the public. Chromepet traffic police rushed to the spot and sent the bodies for autopsy.
