Students spread awareness to stop plastic pollution
Sri Sankara Matric Higher Secondary School and Sri Sankara Public School, Pammal, observed the World Environment day recently, with a hoard of activities like speech, debate, poster making and skit.

The day started with cleaning the school campus. All the students took an oath led by Sivamurugan, Health Inspector, Pammal municipality against plastic pollution. As already known, the theme for this year’s Environment day was “Beating the Plastic Pollution” and India was the host of the day.
Dr.Nandakumar, Correspondent, Prawin Darshan Kumar CEO, Kumari Principal and a host of teachers and students participated. The students presented a variety of programmes on the theme of the day. A Chavi of grade 6 presented a speech in Hindi on Viswa Pariyavaran Diwas.
Likewise, J Sai Shravan of grade 2 presented a poster on Reduce, Reuse on Plastic pollution and H Varsheeni of grade 4presented a speech in Tamil on Save water, Save Earth. Likewise, S Harish Annamalai and R Raghu of grade 4 delivered a speech in English on Global warming.
R Ragavarshini of grade 2 presented a poster on Nature our Saviour. The highlight of the event is the speech rendered by Nandakumar, the Correspondent on planting trees and saving the environment. In a nutshell, the programme created an awareness in the minds of students, parents and teachers.
