Fake passport racket busted, three arrested
Central Crime Branch sleuths busted a fake passport network and seized 25 fake passports from them. The accused were identified as G Dhanapal (55) and his son D Karthik (24) of Mylapore, and S Muniyandi (52) of MKB Nagar.

Police seized Rs 5 lakh and a scanner from them. Police had arrested an immigration official, K Mathivanan (58) of Pudupet, in possession of five Indian passports when he was about to board a Turkey-bound flight on June 7.Â
Based on his confession that Dhanapal and gang made fake passports for Bangladesh and Sri Lankan nationals to gain entry into Europe, police had launched a hunt.
