The TTE asked Teenu for the ticket, but he told her that his father, who was coming behind them, has the tickets and rushed to drink water from a nearby tap. Thinking that Teenu was trying to escape, the TTE grabbed him by his shirt.
Angered by the gesture, he argued with her and another TTE Simi Lal. When Mehal said that Teenu physically attacked her, other railway employees allegedly beat him up and inflicted injuries.
Teenu and his family went to Egmore railway station and lodged a complaint against the TTE.
Meanwhile, Mehal Kumari also filed a complaint against Teenu for attacking her. The police accepted both the complaints and registered cases against both.
