Girl leaves home over NEET result

R Kodeeswari of Reddy Colony Road in Nammalwarpet had scored 45 per cent in her first attempt last year and secured a BDS seat. However, holding on to her MBBS dream, she prepared and appeared for the test again, but managed to score only 42 per cent. 

Shattered by the result, Kodeeswari did not inform her mother, Mariammal, about her score and instead told her that she was going out to an internet centre due to poor network at home. She left home around 3 pm, taking all her certificates and mark sheets with her. When she did not return home for hours, Mariammal tried to call her but they were unanswered. She then informed her husband, Ramar. When he called, Kodeeswari picked the phone and asked him to check the note she had left behind.

In the note, she apologised for failing them twice and said she did not want to burden them anymore. When Ramar called Kodeeswari again after 8.30 pm, her phone was switched off. 

Based on his complaint, the Secretariat Colony police registered a case and have launched a search for the girl. The police have informed the neighbouring states and shared her details. Kodeeswari is the third daughter of the couple, whose elder sisters are working in a software firm.
