Electricity Board lineman among two electrocuted in Kancheepuram
Two men, including a Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) lineman, were electrocuted in separate incidents in Kancheepuram district on Sunday night.

The deceased were identified as Arumugam (35) of Maduranthakam, an EB lineman and Selvam (47) of Villupuram, a construction worker.
According to police, Jammil Endathur villagers complained of power outage to electricity board authorities on Sunday evening.
Around 8.30 pm, lineman Arumugam arrived at the village and was trying to find out the fault in the transformer to restore the power supply. Suddenly he was electrocuted and thrown off.
Arumugam was rushed to the hospital by the villagers immediately, where he was declared dead by a medical team. Later, Chithamur police team visited the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the Maduranthakam GH.
In the next incident, Selvam was electrocuted after he stepped on a live electric wire in Ottiyambakkam near Pallikaranai on Sunday. According to sources, he accidentally stepped on wire while returning home. Soon, passer-by informed the Electricity Board and the police. Officers from Pallikaranai police station rushed to the spot and sent the body for post-mortem to the Chromepet GH.
