One more dies in balcony collapse
Three days after a flower seller died in Mogappair West after the second-floor balcony of a house collapsed over Lakshmi and her husband, Natarajan, the latter, died of injuries at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital on Sunday.

Natarajan and Lakshmi were making garlands on the first-floor balcony of the two-storey building when the balcony above them collapsed.
Lakshmi flung her granddaughter from her lap ad saved her life, but died on the spot.
Natarajan, who was rescued from the rubble and admitted to the Kilpauk Medical College (KMC) Hospital, was subsequently shifted to the RGGGH for treatment. He died without responding to treatment on Sunday morning, hospital sources said. Another motorist who sustained injuries in the incident is said to be out of danger. The incident has once again brought the focus back on the safety of buildings in the city.
