Woman hacked by rival gang in Adambakkam
A gang of men hacked a woman with deadly weapons at her residence in Adambakkam to take revenge for the murder of a history-sheeter in 2015 in Egmore. Police have secured eight persons for interrogation.

The victim, Kavitha (42), is undergoing treatment at a private hospital and is said to be out of danger. Kavitha’s husband Ezhumalai was murdered by mercenaries in 2014 in Velachery over property dispute between siblings. Kavitha, who wanted to take revenge for her husband’s murder, allegedly hired a gang which killed history-sheeter T V Senthil the next year. Kavitha is one of the accused in the case and is facing trial.
Kavitha is suspected to have planned to eliminate Senthil’s aide Robin, but the latter came to know of the plan. He went to her house with his men and attacked her with weapons, leaving her with injuries on the head, hands and abdomen.
Kavitha is into water can distribution business, and her two daughters have been married off. Police have secured eight persons in connection with the case for interrogation and further inquiry is on.
