Robbery victim Lavanya thanks police
J Lavanya, the 28-year-old IT professional who was robbed, attacked and left on the road with bleeding injuries when she was returning from work in the wee hours of February 13, met City Police Commissioner A K Viswanathan to convey her gratitude to the police department for not only arresting the culprits but also supporting her during her recovery.

It was a nightmare, said Lavanya. “I was not able to see my face for at least 10 days after the incident. I am happy that people prayed for me. Inspector Sivakumar has become like my own brother and family member. I am not a brave woman; people around me made me strong.
Now I am engaged to marry,” she said while interacting with the media after meeting the senior officers. Lavanya is engaged to Ravinchadra Reddy, a businessman, in April. Lavanya was on the way home from work when she came under attack by a gang who robber 15 sovereigns of gold and her two-wheeler in Pallikaranai police limit.
After a passerby alerted them about an injured woman, the police rushed to the spot and took her to a hospital nearby. Three suspects were arrested in the case.
