The IRCE 2018 will focus specifically on coaches and train sets, in an effort to create a neutral platform for the industry leaders to exhibit their latest innovations and technologies, which in turn would help the national carrier to identify products and innovations that can be incorporated in its future plans, said the CII in a statement.

The expo will witness the participation of around 100 leading companies from 10 countries, who will bring their technology and products.

This will also act as a bridge between Indian Railways and suppliers, giving an opportunity for the latter to understand the requirements of the Railways so as to plan their future projects accordingly.

As part of the event, there will be an international conference that would cover design of trains that can travel over 160 km per hour; the interior design and amenities for passengers; aluminium body for coaches; high-speed trains and other latest innovations in the sector. The organisers are expecting over 5,000 participants from industry, academia, senior ICF and Railways officials.

Among the firms that have confirmed participation include leading Indian and multi-national firms including Alstom, BEML, Bombardier, Bonatrans, CRRC, Cummins,  Huber+Suhner, Knorr Bremse, Leoni Cable, Mackeli,  Meltronics, Mobility Solutions, Reliance Industries, Renmack and Siemens among others.
