Devaraj from Tiruchy, whose daughter is studying third year at a college at Pallavaram, has lodged a complaint with the Guindy police in this regard.
According to the police, there was another man in the passenger seat of the share auto besides the girl. When the driver deviated from the usual route, the student shouted for help.

When the share auto was slowed down by a traffic snarl, she made use of the opportunity and jumped out of the vehicle. Nobody came forward to help her, and the share auto disappeared among the vehicles on the busy road.
She later called up her father Devaraj in Tiruchy and informed him about the incident. Devaraj then tried to contact the police and helplines in Chennai, only to be told that he should lodge a written complaint. On Tuesday evening, the father lodged a complaint at the Guindy police station.
