Vendor robbed at knifepoint
A gang of four unidentified men robbed cash and gold chain from a vegetable vendor at knifepoint on the Chennai bypass road near Anakaputhur in the wee hours of Tuesday.

The victim, Vijay (25) of Kolapakkam near Vandalur, was on his way to Koyambedu market to buy vegetables. As he was waiting for his friends near the bypass road near Anakaputhur, four men on two motorbikes came near Vijay and asked him to hand over the money he carried with him.Â
When Vijay refused, they slapped him several times and robbed Rs 10,400 and two-sovereign gold chain at knifepoint and sped away.
