3 city students drown in dam near Pune
Three students from ECI matriculation higher secondary school in Tondiarpet, who were on a summer camp, drowned in the backwaters of the Mulshi dam, near Pune city on Wednesday evening.

The deceased have been identified as Danish Raja, Santhosh K and Sarvanan - all aged 13. They were part of a group of 20 students who were attending a week-long summer camp in Katarakhadak village near the dam. They were accompanied by four teachers.
According to sources, the three students had ventured into the waters even though they did not know how to swim, and drowned who could not swim, ventured into the deep waters of the dam on the first day of the camp and drowned.
Parents of the deceased left from Chennai immediately after they were informed about the incident. They reached Pune on Thursday.
Body of Danish Raja was fished out on Wednesday evening while that of the other two boys were retrieved on Thursday noon after 20-hour search operation. The bodies will be handed over to the families after an autopsy examination and will be flown to Chennai from Mumbai.
