The song penned and sung by popular singer ‘Gana’ Bala and set in the tune of Paatu Padava, denounces dangerous and careless driving, and also underage driving. Life is too precious to be lost in accidents, was the message the song aimed the listeners to take home. It also advices motorists to obey traffic rules and to make way for ambulances. This is the second such song from noted singer, who released a video song on road safety last year.

Speaking after launching the song, Commissioner Viswanathan explained the importance of wearing helmet to motorists and distributed 100 helmets to those who rode bikes without one. On Monday, police had conducted a signature campaign in Aminjikarai and Vepery, during which motorists were made to take a pledge to drive safe and not cause any accidents. In Aminjikarai, the signature campaign was followed by cultural events pegged on the theme of road safety.
