Childless couple ends life in Navalur

The deceased, Sasi Kumar (35) and Vijaya (27), got married two years ago and had come to Chennai from Ramanathapuram. Police said that Sasi Kumar and his brother Meiporul ran a hotel in Thalambur. 

On Thursday, at around 8 pm, Meiporul visited his brother’s residence to pick him up for preparing the hotel next day. Police said Meiporul knocked on the door of Kumar’s house located on the first floor. But he got no response, following which Meiporul then enquired with the landlord staying in the ground floor whether Sasikumar and his wife had gone out somewhere. But the landlord reportedly told him they did out come out from the house the entire day. 

Both went upstairs and looked through a window to find them hanging from the ceiling. Thalambur police, who were informed, rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies for post-mortem to the Chengalpattu Medical College and Hospital. 

Police said preliminary investigations have revealed that the couple were dejected over not having a child.
