Rs 13 lakh, gold stolen in 3 burglaries in Kanchi
As much as 28-sovereign jewels and Rs 13 lakh were looted by unidentified men in three separate incidents in Kancheepuram district.

In the first incident, Mani (35), a financier and resident of Mahalakshmi Nagar in Chengalpattu had gone to his native village in Tirunelveli, along with his family on Thursday, due to some personal work.Â
When they returned on Sunday morning, they found the back door of the house broken open and Rs 12 lakh cash in the locker missing. Based on a complaint, Chengalpattu taluk police has registered a case and investigating.Â
In the second incident, Samundieswari (50), a resident of Walajabad had gone to Thanjavur temple with her family and returned on Saturday night. On entering the house, they were found that 16-sovereign jewels and Rs 1 lakh were stolen. Soon, she filed a complaint at Walajabad police station and police have launched a hunt to nab the culprits, said sources.Â
In the third incident, Ramachandran (40), who is working in a private firm and a resident of Gayathri Nagar in Urapakkam, returned from work on Saturday night.Â
His house was broken into and 12-sovereign jewels were missing. Ramachandran filed a complaint at Guduvancherry police station.
