Traffic cop apologises to youth

Sources said the Commissioner investigated the incident and found that the mistake was on the part of Head Constable Babu. He asked the officer to visit the youth in person and tender an apology. 

Accompanied by Ambattur Deputy Commissioner Sarveshraj and Assistant Commissioner Kannan, Babu visited the houses of the youth in Ramapuram and apologised to them in front of their parents. 

Surprised by the cop’s gesture, the youth reportedly apologised in return, admitting that they should not have rode triples and without a valid licence. Deputy Commissioner Sarveshraj gifted them former president APJ Abdul Kalam’s book ‘Wings of Fire’ and also sweets. 

The assault took place a few weeks ago in Porur during which Babu allegedly snatched the mobile phone of one of the youth.
