    Toddler dies after falling from second floor

    A one-and-a-half-years old boy fell from the second floor of a building and died on Tuesday in Mambalam.

    Police said that the child’s mother was drying clothes on the terrace in the second floor of the house on Dhukkaram Second Street when the incident happened on Tuesday afternoon. 

    The kid Muthuraj, who was made to sit on the thin parapet wall, suddenly lost balance and fell from 20 feet height. He was rushed to the nearby hospital with severe injuries but was declared brought dead. 

    The deceased’s father Kannan is working at a home appliances showroom in Vadapalani. On information, Mambalam police officers sent the boy’s Royapettah Government hospital for autopsy. 

    A case has been registered under Section 174 of CrPC, but police has plans to question the parents as there is still some suspicion, said sources.
