Anti-Hindu talk: Book Kanimozhi, lyricist if offence proved
The Madras High Court on Monday directed the Inspector of Police, Pulianthope, to register a case if a prima facie case is made out in the complaint made against DMK leader M Karunanidhi’s daughter and MP Kanimozhi, lyricist Vairamuthu and DK Leader K Veeramani for delivering speeches hurting Hindu religious feelings.

Justice MS Ramesh, before whom the petition from G Radhakrishnan, claiming to be a social worker came, closed the plea after providing the above direction to the police.
Radhakrishnan citing newspaper reports and social media had submitted that Vairamuthu on January 8, 2018, willfully spoke ill about Hindu God “Andal.” On January 5, 2018, Kanimozhi spoke ill about “Elumalayan” in Tirumala and made a mockery of Hindu religious beliefs.
Meanwhile, Veeramani had announced that religious sculptures like Ramayana and Bhagavadgita must be burned and will soon fix a day for that purpose.
Stating that all the three have hurt the religious belief and feelings of the Hindus, which is against the Constitution, the petitioner claimed that since his complaint at the Pulianthope police station in this regard had failed to evoke any response, he approached the court seeking for a direction to the said police station to register an FIR and investigate at length.
