1 injured, another held in students’ clash
Even as the Railways ADGP Sylendra Babu had a discussion with college heads on the issue of students clashing in buses and trains, another incident took place in the city on Saturday leading to the arrest of a student from New College.

The incident took place in broad daylight near the busy Chennai Central. A group of Presidency College students boarded an MTC bus and started attacking a few students of New College travelling in it.
In the scuffle, Presidency College student Rasmath (18) sustained a stab injury and fell unconscious. While panic hit fellow passengers ran for their life, Flower Bazaar police on patrol chased the students to the Park railway station and secured one of them. A knife was seized from the 17-year-old.
During investigation, police found out that a group of New College students travelling in MTC bus (route no: 21) rounded up two Presidency College students, who were travelling in another MTC bus (route no: 18) and attacked them over previous enmity around route problem.
“So, the Presidency College students targeted the New College students,” said an official. A case has been registered and further investigation is on. The injured student is admitted to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital.
