Officials from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) reached the hospice at around 10.30 am and conducted enquiries with Father Thomas and other employees, sources said. When DT Next contacted Father Thomas, he said: “I am not supposed to discuss the details with the media now. I may clarify everything in a detailed manner next week” he said.
St Joseph Hospices was in the news recently, after a van belonging to the elder care centre was found carrying the body of inmate Vijayakumar, 71, as well as two aged persons along with bags of vegetable, near Kancheepuram on Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday Kancheepuram district RDO G Raju led a team of officials to St Joseph Hospices and checked for any violation. The officials also submitted a report.
Meanwhile, with no one coming forward to claim the body of Vijayakumar, it was handed over to St Joseph Hospices on Friday, after post-mortem. Sources said that the body will be disposed by the old age home using concrete vault burial system.
