The accused, Jayaprakash, is a resident of Mambalam who works in the cargo section at Chennai airport. He lives with his wife and children. While disclosing his modus operandi, the police said that Jayaprakash would roam around on his bike, target women travelling alone and molest them before speeding away. Not many women, however, came forward to register a complaint.
The police came to know about Jayaprakash’s activities when he assaulted the daughter of a judicial officer. The victim’s father informed the police about the incident after which police swung into action and nabbed the man. He apparently confessed to the police that he had been doing this for a few months and had assaulted a lot of women.
