Teachers Recruitment Board exam to be rescheduled
Following allegations of irregularities in conducting the recruitment examination for lecturers in Government Polytechnic Colleges conducted by the Teachers Recruitment Board (TRB), the authorities have cancelled it and declared fresh examination.
Chennai
The notification for the examination will be issued during the first week of May and the test will be conducted during the first week of August. According to the latest notification, the commencement date of online application and date of examination would be announced later. The candidates who have already registered have to apply again for the examination, but they need not pay the examination fees. The board had conducted examination for 1,058 posts and published the results in November.
However, it soon got mired in a controversy when candidates pointed out that marks on the scanned images of OMR sheets as shown on the official website differed from the selection list of directly recruited lecturers.Â
TRB then uploaded the scanned images of OMR answer sheets with marks awarded, with reference to final key in December. The scam only grew from there, and the case was handed over to the Central Crime Branch for investigation.Â
A case was registered against a Delhi-based company for forging documents. The company was assigned to prepare the list of shortlisted candidates for the post of lecturers in government polytechnic colleges in Tamil Nadu.
