Ramachandran is a poultry farm owner and a resident of Injambakkam. In the petition, he claimed that Deepa and Raja received money from him on several occasions, promising him ministerial berth in the cabinet. He said that initially Deepa and her driver Raja contacted him and collected Rs 50 lakh to settle her loans, and then Rs 4 lakh more on different occasions.
“Later, Deepa and Raja approached me again claiming that Deepa’s husband Madhavan stole the Rs 50 lakh I had given them earlier and sought another Rs 50 lakh. When I asked my money back, Deepa and Madhavan threatened me directly and then through Raja,” alleged Ramachandran. He has also submitted the audio recordings of his conversations with the driver Raja.
Police sources said that the petition has been forwarded to Central Crime Branch, which is likely to summon Deepa and Raja for an enquiry.
