    Metro rail increases frequency

    Chennai Metro Rail Limited has increased the frequency of its trains operated between Shenoy Nagar and Alandur stations during peak hours (8.30 - 10.30 am and 5-8.30 pm).

    As per the revised time table of CMRL, which comes to effect from Thursday, February 1, a metro train would be operated every seven minutes between Shenoy Nagar and Alandur to reduce the waiting time at stations. The revision has been made on the said corridor following a traffic survey which revealed that maximum office goers were travelling through corridor-2 (Sheony Nagar – St Thomas Mount).

    Change in pattern of train of services

    MMC – Arakkonam EMUs, scheduled to leave MMC at 8.20 am, 9.10 am, 11.05 am, 10 am and MMC-Tiruttani EMUs, scheduled to leave MMC at 10 am and 11.45 am would not stop at Senji Panambakkam due to line block between Kadambattur and Thiruvalangadu in Chennai – Arakkonam section from Feb 1 – 10 (except Feb 4). Meanwhile, Divisional Railway Manager Naveen Gulati who chaired the Divisional Railway Users Consultative Committee meeting on Wednesday made a presentation on passenger amenities, punctuality of mail/express and suburban trains, stations and trains safety and cleanliness to the committee members.
