Royal heir hired Nellai gang to kill me: Karthik
Two days after five men were arrested from Ganapathy Colony near Chamiers Road with a pistol, bullets and jewels, police on Tuesday said that the gang had confessed that Singampatti zamindar Sankarathmajan had hired them to kill RSV Karthik Senathapathi.
Chennai
RSV Karthik Senathapathi had submitted a complaint to the Commissioner of Police a month ago alleging threat to his life from the royal family of Ramnad estate over a property dispute.
Two of the arrested — Prakash and Ramasundaram — are brothers of Sundar of Surandai zamin, while the other three, Arun Prasad, Naresh Narayanan and Gurunathan, are their henchmen, who came from Tirunelveli.
Karthik Sethupathi had earlier stated that Kumaran Sethupathi of Ramnad Estate threatened him through Singampatti zamindar Sankarathmajan, Surandai zamin’s family member Sundar and his friend Sudhan. Police said that Sankarathmajan will be arrested soon.
Since Karthik Sethupathi was the adopted son of Vijaya Nachiar, the eldest daughter of Ramnad Estate Shanmuga Rajeshwara Naganatha Sethupathi, the present zamindar allegedly did not want to give a share in the royal assets to him.Â
In his petition to the CoP, Karthik had stated that he was beaten up by the men of Sankarathmajan, Sundar and his friend Sudhan at a hotel in Tirunelveli in December last year.Â
