Dashwanth grilled for over 2 hours in mahila court
Dashwanth, the alleged killer of a seven-year-old girl and his mother, was cross examined for two-and-a-half hours at Chengalpattu mahila court on Sunday.
Chennai
He was interrogated in connection with the trial of murder of the minor girl in February. According to police only three witnesses, including the father and mother of the girl, were present in the court along with the court officials and the lawyer when the in-camera examination and cross-examinations took place. The case was posted for further hearing to Wednesday. More witnesses are expected to be present in the court during the next hearing.
Because Dashwanth was attacked by a group of women activists in the court premises when he was produced last week, the police had made sure no women were present near the court when the hearing took place.
Dashwanth was also produced in the court of Chengalpattu judicial magistrate in connection with the case related to threatening of the girl’s father in court premise last month, when the latter went to depose as a witness in the case.
On Monday, during the examination, Dashwanth informed the court that he had not threatened Hasini’s father and added that he was not aware that a case was filed against him by the police in connection with the said complaint by the girl’s father.
It may be noted that Dashwanth was in the news for allegedly killing his mother on December 2 after he was out on bail in seven-yearold’s rape and murder case. He was caught by Chennai police team in Mumbai. He escaped from police but he was re-arrested again within 24 hours.
