A day after violence, university wears deserted look
A day after a first year student committed suicide in the college hostel triggering violence in the campus, Sathyabama University wore a deserted look on Thursday. The students were asked to leave and the campus remained empty.

Another final year student who was caught copying from the notes scribbled on the desk on the same day when Moulika was caught recounted her experience.
“The invigilator took my ID card and hall ticket and I was asked to go and meet the examination officer. I was told that I will not be allowed to write the next two papers. Also, my parents would be called and informed,” said the final year student. However, she did not see Raga Moulika there.
According to other students, the invigilators are usually strict during exams.
Post the violence in the campus, the students were asked to vacate the premises.
“At 2 pm on Wednesday, we received messages from our friends living in the hostel that a first-year student committed suicide. We went back to college as scheduled but the violence began only in the night,” a student, living as a paying guest close-by, said.
“We knew about the violence only through news channels and social media. We received a message in the morning that the college is closed.” A Facebook page called ‘Sathyabama Justice’ has been formed. The display picture is that of Raga Moulika with the caption ‘Please don’t spread rumours about me’ . The page however has little traction. Sources said that the students who protested on Wednesday communicated through WhatsApp. A first year student, on conditions of anonymity, said, “Students were angry and people were discussing the issue on the campus. We received a forward in one of our group messages that we want justice and the management should take responsibility for it.”
