According to the forecast on Friday by the Regional Meteorological Centre, Chennai, there is a possibility of isolated rain in a few parts of interior Tamil Nadu. However, Chennai will see two more dry days.

According to weathermen, the depression that had been persisting off the coast of north Andhra Pradesh and south Odisha, is now moving in a northward direction along the coast, bringing rain to many places along the east coast of the country. Dr S Balachandran, Director, Area Cyclone Warning Centre, told DT Next “There are no new systems as of now.

As far as Chennai is concerned, the dry weather situation will continue to prevail for two more days. There will be light rain in few interior pockets.” Weather bloggers too concurred.

“With the disturbance in the north Bay fading in its influence, the low-level winds over Southern Peninsula is expected to return back to normalcy shifting directions to the easterlies. his shift is expected to happen around late night on Friday with possibly the extreme southern parts of Tamil Nadu seeing the return of easterlies earlier, when compared to the rest of the state resulting in rainfall in interior districts,” said K Srikanth, weather-blogger, Chennaiyil Oru Mazhaikkalam.

The blogger added that such return of the easterlies could usher in a fresh batch of light to moderate rainfall with it.
