Sidelined AIADMK leaders’ VK Sasikala and TTV Dinakaran have moved the Madras High Court seeking to restrain Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami and Deputy Chief Minister O Panneerselvam leading the other AIADMK faction from holding the organisational posts of the party and operating party’s bank accounts.
Chennai
Justice CV Karthikeyan, before whom the civil suit moved by the duo came up for hearing on Thursday, ordered notice to four defendants -EPS, OPS, E Madhusudhanan, S Semmalai, Dindigul C Sreenivasan returnable by November 29.
The judge also directed AIADMK headquarter manager P Mahalingam to submit the details of bank accounts maintained by the party and persons authorised to operate them
by November 10.
Sasikala and Dinakaran, while seeking for an interim injunction against the EPS-OPS faction from operating the bank accounts of the party, had contended that only M Rengasamy MLA (Thanjavur), who was appointed as the treasurer of the party by its general secretary Sasikala is entitled to operate the accounts.
They also sought for series of reliefs including orders declaring that the resolutions passed in the September 29 meeting organised by the other faction expelling them from the party as illegal and void.
The petitioners also sought the court to restrain the EPS-OPS faction from conducting general council meeting of the party and not to interfere in their rights of functioning as the general secretary and deputy general secretary.
