Not sure if I’m targeted, says Vishal
A day after the Income Tax Department officials knocked on the doors of actor Vishal’s company, the actor said on Tuesday that he was not sure if it was an act of vendetta after his statements against BJP leader H Raja. However, the I-T officials clarified that it was not a single case of violation check.

The I-T officials raised non-deposit of TDS to the tune of Rs 51 lakh, which the production company Vishal Film Factory had collected by deduction, but has so far not deposited in the government account.
Talking to DT Next, Vishal said, “Yes, there was an overdue of TDS from my end. I will discuss with my auditors and will submit the necessary documents and dues before Friday.” When asked if the raid was conducted as a result of his statement against H Raja, he said, “I really don’t know and I am not sure if the statement has backfired, but I will do as per I-T Department’s orders.”
The Income Tax department too clarified that the TDS inspection carried out at the office of actor Vishal’s film producing company was not a single case of check against violation but claimed that so far the I-T Department had carried out over 400 such inspection in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry in the current financial year.
